My first attempts with the idea of blank canvases consisted of looking for white objects or places and documenting them, with an objective intention. This experiment stemmed from frustrations with the concepts of a blank canvas, and tying to capture something blank and keeping the idea of a blank canvas throughout the images.
My second attempts consisted of photographing the sky and the clouds. This came from trying to relax and get rid of the frustrations in my head from the previous experiment, and clearing my head. To clear my head I decided to cloud gaze, as its something that I find relaxing, and from this I began to take photos of them. If cloud gazing was something that worked to clear my head (creating a blank canvas), there was something to be said for the overall quality of clouds in creating a blank canvas.
